Kindergarten registration is Tuesday, February 3rd for the 2026-2027 school year. To register your child for kindergarten, please follow the instructions provided at this link Register your child for school | Yukon.ca

There will be a virtual information session for parents on Wednesday, January 21st at 7:00pm. The link for the session will posted on Yukon.ca on January 19th. 

Hidden Valley School does Kindergarten Orientation for new kindergarten students and families in May.

Hidden Valley Elementary, along with all school in Whitehorse, does a stagger-start for kindergarten meaning the first week of school your child will attend in smaller sessions with a smaller group of students to get comfortable with the school and for the kindergarten teachers to get to know each student better. Students will attend for 2 half days throughout the first four days and then regular school days afterwards. An example of this is would be:

• Monday -Morning
• Tuesday – OFF
• Wednesday – -Afternoon
• Thursday – OFF
• Friday – Full day
