Supervision
Supervision starts before school when the first bus arrives. For the 2025/26 School year supervision on the playground begins at 8:10am. After school supervision ends at 3:25pm. Please try to be on-time to collect your children.

Kindergarten in the Yukon is a full-time programming for children that are five years if age by December 31st of the calendar year that school starts.
Policies and Procedures
Allergy/Food Procedure
Hidden Valley is has a split nut policy at our school.
The primary wing classrooms (K-3) are nut-free. The intermediate wing is not. If a child has an identified allergy that classroom could be nut-free. Other foods may be prohibited based on student allergies each year. Families will be notified of these foods if they are of concern to a child’s health. A medical form must be completed for each child and submitted to the school. This form should include information on a child’s health such as allergies, medical conditions, or other health related information. Families are responsible for sending a healthy lunch and snacks with students each day.
Cell Phone Policy
School Council passed a cell phone policy for Hidden valley School in the 2024/2025 school year.
HVES does not permit the use of personally owned electronic devices during school hours or at
school events including offsite events. Instead, students will continue to have use of electronic
devices provided by the school as part of their supervised classroom activities. This will
encourage students to learn how to appropriately and safely use devices as part of their

Cold Weather Policy
School remains open at all temperatures. Outdoor activities vary based on humidity, wind chill. At lower temperatures student may only go outside for a brisk walk or a shortened period of time. The decision is made by the school staff. Please always send your child to school with appropriate clothing for going outside each day.
Communication Policy
